EXT. ANTHONY'S HOUSE – AFTERNOON

A peaceful afternoon settles over the neighborhood. The warm sunlight shines across Anthony's front yard as he waits outside his house. Everything seems normal until the sound of an approaching engine breaks the silence.

A stunning brand-new luxury car slowly enters the driveway. Its polished exterior sparkles under the sunlight. Anthony immediately notices it and stares in shock.

The driver's door opens. Amber steps out confidently, smiling as if nothing unusual has happened.

ANTHONY

Amber... what is this?

AMBER

What do you think? It's beautiful, isn't it?

Anthony circles the vehicle slowly. The more he looks at it, the more suspicious he becomes.

ANTHONY

Where did you get this car?

AMBER

Dave gave it to me.

Anthony freezes. The answer hits him like a bolt of lightning.

Anthony's Anger Grows

ANTHONY

Dave gave you this car?

AMBER

Yes.

ANTHONY

Why would he buy you a car?

AMBER

Because he wanted to.

Anthony cannot believe what he is hearing. In his mind, nobody simply gives away an expensive luxury car without expecting something in return.

Questions begin flooding his mind. Why would Dave spend so much money on Amber? What is really happening between them? Is there something Amber is hiding?

ANTHONY

How long has this been going on?

AMBER

What are you talking about?

ANTHONY

You and Dave.

Amber's eyes widen. She cannot believe Anthony is accusing her of having a secret relationship with Dave.

There is no "me and Dave."

ANTHONY

Then explain the car.

Suddenly, Anthony's phone rings.

Why did you buy Amber a car?

There is silence on the other end of the line.

Dave calmly explains that Amber needed help and he simply wanted to assist her.

I don't believe you.

The conversation quickly turns tense before Dave hangs up.

Anthony's Real Fear

As Anthony lowers his phone, he realizes something important.

AMBER

Anthony suddenly feels guilty. He remembers all the times Amber stood beside him and supported him.

Maybe he allowed jealousy to control him.

ANTHONY

I'm sorry.

AMBER

Then trust me.

Anthony looks into her eyes and realizes she is telling the truth.

A Temporary Peace

The tension slowly disappears.

Amber smiles softly.

Anthony finally laughs for the first time since she arrived.

AMBER

Can we move on now?

ANTHONY

I'll try.

Together they walk toward the house.

But before entering, Anthony glances back at the brand-new car one last time.

His doubts may be quieter now, but they have not completely disappeared.
