Bethany's Shocking Interrogation
The atmosphere inside Bethany's house was suffocating. The silence was so heavy that even the rhythmic ticking of the wall clock sounded like thunder. Bethany sat on the sofa with fury burning in her eyes, while Isaiah sat opposite her with his head lowered. Larry and Brooke stood nearby, exchanging confused glances as they sensed something disastrous was about to happen.
Bethany: "Isaiah, I've brought you here today for a straight, honest conversation. I don't want excuses or word games."
Isaiah slowly lifted his head. Fear filled his eyes as he glanced at Larry and Brooke, both completely unaware of where the conversation was heading.
Bethany: "Is something going on between you and Brooke? Are you both cheating on me behind my back?"
The question exploded through the room like a grenade. Nobody spoke. Isaiah froze in shock. Brooke's face turned pale, while Larry stared at Bethany in disbelief.
Bethany: "Answer me!"
Isaiah's body trembled. His throat felt dry as he searched for words that refused to come.
Bethany: "Don't lie to me! Is there something between the two of you?"
Crushed by fear and pressure, Isaiah finally whispered one word.
Isaiah: "Yes..."
Bethany jumped to her feet.
Bethany: "I knew it! I knew both of you were hiding something!"
She rushed toward Isaiah, throwing accusation after accusation.
Bethany: "Since when? How many times? Did you really think I'd never find out?"
Larry immediately stepped between them.
Larry: "Bethany, please! Stop! Let Isaiah explain!"
Brooke finally found her voice.
Brooke: "Bethany, you've got it all wrong! Nothing is happening between us!"
Bethany refused to listen. Overcome by rage, she tried to strike Isaiah, but Larry grabbed both of her arms before she could.
Larry: "Bethany! This isn't the way!"
Isaiah buried his face in his hands, tears filling his eyes.
Bethany: "You ruined my life! I trusted you!"
Isaiah: "Bethany... I can explain..."
Bethany: "Explain what? Didn't you just admit it?"
Suddenly, Bethany stopped fighting. Her anger disappeared and was replaced by an eerie calm.
She slowly pulled out her phone and smiled.
Bethany: "You were right, Isaiah. You said 'Yes.' But you never asked if I was recording this conversation."
The room became even quieter.
Bethany: "Larry... would you like to explain why you hid that note Isaiah sent to Brooke? Why did you keep it from me?"
Larry instinctively stepped backward. Brooke's fear only grew stronger.
Bethany walked to the front door, locked it, and slipped the key into her pocket.
Bethany: "Nobody leaves this house until I know exactly what game the three of you have been playing."
She reached for the light switch.
Bethany: "Trust me... none of you are walking out until I hear the absolute truth."
The lights went out.
Complete darkness swallowed the room.
Then... a slow knocking sound echoed through the house.
It wasn't coming from outside the door.
It was coming from somewhere inside the room...
Someone else had been standing silently in the shadows, listening to every word.
