Esa) Larry Is Shocked When Bethany Questions Sharra's Three Months of Unpaid Rent and Asks Why She Doesn't Work or Downsize Her Home

One More Chance - The Secret
Just when Larry thought he was helping Sharra... a mysterious name "Jhol" creates doubt, confusion, and a shocking new mystery.

BETHANY’S LUXURY OFFICE – AFTERNOON

Golden sunlight shines through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. The luxurious office is peaceful and elegant.

Bethany sits behind her executive desk reviewing financial reports. A soft knock interrupts the silence.

BETHANY: Come in.

Larry walks inside, looking emotionally drained.

BETHANY: Larry... You look like you've been carrying the weight of the world. Is everything alright?

LARRY: Not really. Things keep getting worse for Sharra. First her mother's arrest... Now she's about to lose her apartment.

BETHANY: What happened?

LARRY: Her rent is overdue. She has bills everywhere. She's trying to stay strong... but I can see she's falling apart.

BETHANY: Wait... Why isn't Jhol paying the rent?

Larry freezes. His eyes widen in shock.

LARRY: ...What? Who is Jhol?

BETHANY: A few weeks ago... someone mentioned that Sharra had been getting help from a man named Jhol. I assumed he was someone close to her.

LARRY: I've never even heard that name before.

Larry starts pacing, visibly disturbed.

LARRY: If someone has been helping Sharra... Why would she keep it from me?

BETHANY: Don't jump to conclusions. There may be a simple explanation. Just ask Sharra.

Bethany takes out an envelope filled with cash and slides it toward him.

BETHANY: Take this. Help her before it's too late.

LARRY: Thank you... You have no idea what this means.

EXT. CITY STREET – LATE AFTERNOON

Larry exits the building holding the envelope tightly. His mind is racing.

LARRY (V.O.): Who is Jhol? Why have I never heard that name before? And why did Bethany think he was paying Sharra's rent?

He gets into his car, gripping the steering wheel, caught between gratitude and growing suspicion.

SHARRA’S APARTMENT – EVENING

Sharra sits alone at the kitchen table surrounded by unpaid bills, looking exhausted.

A knock. She opens the door to find Larry holding the envelope.

SHARRA: Larry... You're here.

Larry places the envelope on the table.

LARRY: This should cover your rent.

Sharra opens it and tears fill her eyes.

LARRY: Before we talk about the money... I need to ask you something.

SHARRA: Okay... What is it?

LARRY: Who... Is Jhol?

Sharra's smile vanishes instantly. Her face turns pale. The envelope slips from her hands. Heavy silence fills the room.

Larry notices the fear in her eyes. The unanswered question hangs heavily between them.

SHARRA’S APARTMENT – EVENING (CONTINUOUS)

Sharra quickly bends down to pick up the scattered money, her hands shaking. She avoids eye contact.

SHARRA: Jhol...? Where did you hear that name?

LARRY: Does it matter? Bethany mentioned him. She thought he was helping you with the rent. Why didn't you tell me about him?

Sharra stands up slowly, clutching the envelope to her chest. Her voice trembles slightly.

SHARRA: He's... just an old friend. Someone who helped me when things got really bad. It was nothing serious, Larry. I didn't want to complicate things between us.

LARRY: An old friend who pays your rent for months? Why hide it? I thought we were being honest with each other.

Larry steps closer, his voice a mix of hurt and anger.

LARRY: First your mother’s arrest, now this secret. What else aren’t you telling me, Sharra?

Sharra turns away toward the window, tears streaming down her face. The city lights flicker outside.

SHARRA: You don’t understand how hard it’s been. I didn’t want you to think I was using you... or that I was involved with someone else. Jhol is just helping as a friend. That’s all.

Larry runs a hand through his hair, conflicted. He wants to believe her, but doubt is creeping in.

LARRY: I want to trust you. But secrets like this... they make me question everything.

EXT. SHARRA’S APARTMENT BUILDING – NIGHT

Larry walks out of the building, the cool night air hitting his face. He stops under a streetlight and pulls out his phone.

LARRY (V.O.): She says he’s just a friend... but why did she look so scared? I need to know the truth before I lose everything.

He opens his contacts and stares at Bethany’s name, then at Sharra’s. His thumb hovers uncertainly.

The mystery of Jhol deepens... Is Sharra telling the truth, or is there something much bigger she is hiding from Larry?
