Charlotte Reveals Bethany's Father's Secret Warning

INT. CHARLOTTE'S LIVING ROOM – LATE AFTERNOON

Golden sunlight streams through the windows, filling the room with warmth. Everything appears peaceful, but an uncomfortable silence hangs in the air. Charlotte waits nervously near the fireplace, glancing repeatedly at the front door. She has been carrying an important secret, and today she has finally decided to reveal it.

A knock echoes through the house. Charlotte slowly walks to the door and opens it. Bethany smiles politely, unaware that this visit will completely change her mood.

CHARLOTTE

"Thank you for coming, Bethany. I know you're busy, but I really needed to talk to you."

BETHANY

"You sounded serious on the phone. Is everything okay?"

Charlotte quietly closes the door behind them and invites Bethany into the living room. Both women sit down across from one another. Charlotte takes a deep breath before speaking.

CHARLOTTE

"I want you to know that I'm only telling you this because I care about you."

BETHANY

"You're starting to worry me. Just tell me what's going on."

Charlotte lowers her eyes for a moment before finally looking directly at Bethany.

CHARLOTTE

"I met with your dad yesterday."

Bethany immediately becomes curious. Her expression changes from calm to concerned.

BETHANY

"My dad? Why? What did he say?"

CHARLOTTE

"He asked me to keep an eye on you."

The room suddenly feels much quieter. Bethany blinks several times, trying to understand what Charlotte just said.

BETHANY

"Keep an eye on me? Why would he ask you to do that?"

CHARLOTTE

"He believes you're thinking about transferring part of your property into Larry's name."

Bethany's eyes widen in complete shock. She cannot believe her father would think such a thing.

BETHANY

"So... my own father doesn't trust me anymore?"

CHARLOTTE

"I don't think it's about trust. I think he's scared you'll make a decision based on emotion instead of logic."

Bethany slowly stands and walks toward the window. She stares outside while replaying every memory she has shared with Larry.

BETHANY

"I've never told anyone I was planning to give Larry my property."

CHARLOTTE

"I know. But your dad is worried. He doesn't want you making decisions you'll regret later."

Bethany sighs deeply. She folds her arms and continues looking outside, trying to process everything.

BETHANY

"It hurts knowing my father asked someone else to watch me instead of talking to me himself."

CHARLOTTE

"Maybe he was afraid you wouldn't listen. Sometimes parents make mistakes because they're trying to protect the people they love."

Charlotte gently walks over and stands beside Bethany.

CHARLOTTE

"He loves you more than anything. He simply doesn't want to see you lose something you've worked so hard for."

BETHANY

"I love Larry... but that doesn't mean I'm careless."

CHARLOTTE

"Then prove it by taking your time. Don't let anyone pressure you into making life-changing decisions."

Bethany slowly nods. Charlotte's words begin to make sense. Instead of feeling angry, Bethany starts questioning whether her father may have noticed something she overlooked.

The cousins share a long embrace. Although the conversation was difficult, both women know it came from a place of love.
