Amber Meets Dave's Daughter
A Cinematic Screenplay
INT. DAVE'S LIVING ROOM – LATE AFTERNOON
Warm sunlight fills the room as Dave walks inside with Amber. A teenage girl, Lily, looks up from the couch. The atmosphere instantly becomes tense.
DAVE
Lily... there's someone I'd like you to meet.
AMBER
Hi, Lily. I've heard wonderful things about you.
LILY
You don't belong here.
Amber forces a smile, trying to stay calm.
AMBER
I'm not here to replace your mother. I only want us to get along.
LILY
You're never going to be my mother.
Don't even think about it.
DAVE
Lily... please don't do this.
LILY
My mom can never be replaced. Not by you.
AMBER
I'm only asking for respect.
LILY
You haven't earned mine.
Dave tries to calm both of them, but the tension keeps growing.
AMBER
Why are you treating me like this?
LILY
Because you don't belong in this house. Leave.
AMBER
You don't get to tell me where I can stand.
LILY
Watch me.
Amber's patience disappears.
AMBER
You're acting like a spoiled child.
LILY
What did you just call me?
AMBER
Someone had to say it.
LILY
You'll never be part of this family.
AMBER
You don't get to decide that! I'm tired of your attitude!
SMACK!
Lily slaps Amber hard across the face.
The entire room falls silent.

The entire room falls silent.
Amber slowly places her hand on her burning cheek. Dave stands frozen in complete shock.
DAVE
Lily! What have you done?
AMBER
I came here hoping we could become a family... I never imagined this.
DAVE
I'm so sorry, Amber.
LILY
I warned her.
Amber quietly picks up her purse and walks toward the front door without looking back.
AMBER
Some wounds take more than promises to heal.
