A Cinematic Screenplay
🎬 Scene 1 – Bethany's House – Evening

The house is unusually quiet.

Soft rain taps against the windows while a ceiling fan spins lazily above.

Bethany stands in the kitchen, replaying her earlier conversation with Isaiah. She only wanted to make sure Brooke was okay—but now she wonders if she crossed a line.

The front door suddenly swings open.

Brooke walks inside with fast, angry steps.

She doesn't even look at Bethany.

A heavy silence fills the room.

BETHANY
Brooke...
Is everything okay?
BROOKE
You really want to know what's wrong?
Then tell me...
Why did you ask Isaiah about me?
BETHANY
I wasn't trying to hurt you.
I was only checking on you.
BROOKE
Checking on me?
No...
You asked him about our private life.
Why would you do that?
BETHANY
I only asked because I was worried.
Nothing more.
BROOKE
Don't lie to me.
You asked Isaiah if we were doing adult stuff.
Why?
Do you not trust me?
BETHANY
I wasn't judging you.
I simply wanted to know if everything between you two was okay.
That's all.
BROOKE
You invaded my privacy.
You had no right.
BETHANY
Maybe I shouldn't have asked.
But my intentions were never bad.
I care about you.
BROOKE
If you cared about me...
You would've asked me directly.
Not Isaiah.

A painful silence follows.

Bethany lowers her eyes.

Before she can apologize—Brooke interrupts.

BROOKE
Maybe you've never trusted me.
Maybe you think I'm making stupid choices.
BETHANY
That's not true.
Not even close.
BROOKE
Stop pretending.
You're always acting like you know what's best for everyone.
I'm tired of it.
BETHANY
Please...
Don't twist my words.
BROOKE
Don't tell me what to do!
You don't control my life!
BETHANY
Enough, Brooke.
I've listened to everything you've said.
I made one mistake.
But that doesn't give you the right to insult me.
BROOKE
Maybe you deserve it.

The room becomes completely silent.

Even the rain outside seems distant.

Bethany clenches her fists.

Her emotions finally boil over.

SMACK!

The sharp slap echoes across the room.

Brooke freezes.

Shock replaces anger.

Neither woman says a single word.

BETHANY
...Brooke.
I'm...

Brooke raises her hand, stopping Bethany.

Tears fill her eyes—not because of the pain, but because of the betrayal.

She walks toward the front door.

Bethany reaches out instinctively.

BETHANY
Please...
Don't leave like this.

Brooke opens the door.

Without looking back, she walks into the pouring rain.

The door closes behind her.

Bethany stands alone in the silent house.

The sound of rain grows louder.

She realizes that one moment of anger may have damaged their relationship forever.

TO BE CONTINUED...

The storm outside has only begun.
