For weeks, tension had been building between Libby and Ladonna. Libby was convinced that Ladonna was deliberately drawing Cadrick closer to herself and pushing him away from Libby. Every conversation, every unexplained meeting, and every change in Cadrick’s behavior seemed to confirm Libby’s suspicions.
That morning, Libby stormed into Ladonna’s office with her phone clutched in her hand. She did not come to talk calmly. She came determined to prove that she had been betrayed.

Cadrick immediately moved toward Ladonna, then spun around to face Libby. His expression was full of anger and disbelief.
“Have you lost your mind?” he demanded. “Do you understand what you’ve just done? Ladonna has power over my job and my future. If she wants to make trouble for me, she could put everything I’ve worked for at risk. How could you treat her like this?”
His words only made Libby more defensive. Instead of apologizing, she tightened her grip on the wig and glared at Ladonna as if the entire incident were somehow her fault.
“You only care about your job!” Libby shouted at Cadrick. “You refuse to see what she’s doing. She came between us, and now she’s trying to separate us for good!”
“Enough, Libby!” Cadrick snapped. “You have crossed a line, and you need to stop blaming everyone else for your choices.”
5. Ladonna Makes a Chilling Call
Ladonna wiped her tears and slowly straightened herself. The shock was still visible on her face, but her expression began to change. She was no longer simply the target of Libby’s anger. Now she looked determined to take control of the situation.
Without saying another word, she reached for her phone and dialed a number. Libby’s confidence began to fade as she watched. Even Cadrick fell silent, unsure what Ladonna was about to do.
