The Missing Newborn
Genesis’s baby has vanished from the maternity ward. With a frantic father, a frightened hospital team, and a mysterious woman on the loose, every minute brings a darker question.
1. A Mother’s Worst Nightmare
The hospital room echoed with panic. Genesis lay exhausted in her bed, tears streaming down her face as she kept asking the same question: “Where is my baby? Please, somebody tell me where my child is!” Only hours earlier, she had given birth. Now, the newborn was nowhere to be found.
Terry stood beside her, stunned and frightened. Nurses hurried between the maternity ward and the nursery, checking bassinets, asking colleagues questions, and searching every nearby room. No one could explain how a baby could disappear from a hospital where staff were supposed to be watching over every patient.
Genesis tried to sit up, desperate to search for herself, but the doctor urged her to stay in bed. She was physically drained, yet the fear of not knowing where her baby was made rest impossible.
2. The Police Arrive
Genesis demanded that the hospital report the disappearance immediately. The doctor contacted the authorities, and officers arrived soon afterward. They began interviewing the nurses, reviewing the maternity records, and asking who had entered or left the ward during the hours surrounding the birth.
The security footage was checked, but the first review produced no clear answer. Some angles showed empty corridors; others were blocked by doors or passing staff. There was no unmistakable image that revealed where the newborn had gone.
One officer asked the staff to remain available for further questions. Terry, meanwhile, paced the hallway, growing angrier with every passing minute. Genesis watched the doorway, hoping someone would return carrying her baby, but every approaching set of footsteps brought another empty-handed visitor.
3. A Nurse Remembers Something
Just as the investigation seemed to be going nowhere, a nurse suddenly remembered a detail that had troubled her earlier. She approached the doctor and lowered her voice.
The doctor’s expression changed. “Are you certain you saw a baby?” she asked.
“I believe I did,” the nurse replied. “I didn’t realize anything was wrong at the time. She looked as though she belonged here, and everything happened so quickly.”
The description immediately became important to the police. They asked for more details about the woman’s clothing, direction of travel, and the time she had been seen. Yet the nurse could not explain how the woman had passed through the hospital without attracting attention.
4. The Doctor Keeps Genesis in the Dark
The doctor understood that the nurse’s statement could change the entire investigation, but it was still only a lead. Until the police could verify it, she feared that sharing it with Genesis might cause even greater distress or lead to a false accusation.
So the doctor returned to Genesis and carefully chose her words. “We are checking the nursery and reviewing all the records again,” she said. “The police are working with us, and we will tell you as soon as we have confirmed information.”
Genesis searched the doctor’s face, sensing that something was being left unsaid. “You know more than you’re telling me, don’t you?” she asked. The doctor paused, then repeated that the investigation was still underway.
Her answer did little to reassure Genesis. Instead, it deepened her fear that the hospital was hiding a terrible truth.
5. Terry Confronts Natasha
Terry had also begun to suspect that the hospital staff were not telling him everything. Unable to bear another vague explanation, he went to Natasha and demanded the truth.
Natasha looked genuinely confused. She had no clear explanation to offer, but Terry’s frustration was growing. He wondered whether someone had deliberately taken the baby and whether the people around him already knew more than they admitted.
Back at the hospital, the officers continued questioning staff and checking the timeline. Every minute that passed made the mystery more urgent, while Genesis waited in anguish for news of her child.
6. The Terrifying Truth
Unknown to Genesis, Terry, and most of the hospital staff, Libby—the red-haired woman—had secretly taken the newborn and slipped away. She had chosen her moment carefully, moving quickly enough to avoid being clearly identified on the available security cameras.
The hospital had not yet confirmed Libby’s role, and the police were still piecing together the evidence. Then another troubling discovery emerged: a detail in the maternity ward’s records did not match the timeline staff had given investigators.
When the doctor heard about the inconsistency, her face went pale. The disappearance might not have been a simple mistake or a moment of confusion. Someone may have deliberately taken Genesis’s child.
Genesis was still waiting for an answer. Terry was demanding the truth. The police were searching for a lead, and the hospital was struggling to understand how this could have happened under its watch.
