FOR MY SAKE
INT. LARRY'S HOUSE – EARLY MORNING
The first rays of sunlight barely peek through the curtains.
The house is silent.
Everyone is still asleep.
Suddenly—
BANG!
The bedroom door swings open.
LARRY storms inside.
His expression is cold and demanding.
On the bed, STEEVIE is sleeping peacefully beneath a blanket.
LARRY walks over and pulls the blanket away.
LARRY
Wake up.
Steevie groans and turns away.
STEEVIE
It's too early...
Larry folds his arms.
LARRY
Get up. Training starts now.
Steevie slowly opens her eyes.
She looks exhausted.
STEEVIE
Can't I rest for one day?
LARRY
No excuses.
Now move.
Steevie reluctantly gets out of bed.
She rubs her tired eyes and follows Larry downstairs.
INT. HOME GYM – MOMENTS LATER
The room is filled with exercise equipment.
Dumbbells line the walls.
Steevie stands in the middle of the room wearing training clothes.
She still looks half asleep.
Larry places a pair of heavy dumbbells in front of her.
LARRY
Twenty repetitions.
Start.
STEEVIE
I'm tired.
LARRY
I didn't ask if you're tired.
Lift them.
Steevie reluctantly picks up the dumbbells.
She struggles through the first few repetitions.
Her arms shake.
Sweat forms on her forehead.
LARRY
Faster.
STEEVIE
I'm trying.
LARRY
Try harder.
Steevie clenches her teeth and continues.
Minutes pass.
Her breathing becomes heavier.
The workout becomes more intense.
STEEVIE
I need a break.
LARRY
No.
Keep going.
Steevie looks at him in disbelief.
STEEVIE
I've been doing this for hours.
LARRY
Then do another hour.
INT. HOME GYM – LATER
The workout continues.
Steevie's arms feel numb.
Her shoulders ache.
LARRY
Higher.
Lift higher.
CLANG!
Steevie drops the weights onto the floor.
A tense silence follows.
LARRY
What are you doing?
STEEVIE
I'm done.
Months of frustration fill her eyes.
STEEVIE
You never listen.
You never care how I feel.
Everything has to be your way.
LARRY
I'm trying to help you.
STEEVIE
Help me?
This isn't help.
It's control.
STEEVIE
I'm tired of this.
I've had enough of you.
I'm going back to my own home.
Larry freezes.
LARRY
What?
STEEVIE
You heard me.
I'm leaving.
INT. LIVING ROOM – CONTINUOUS
Steevie enters the living room.
She grabs a travel bag from the closet.
LARRY
Steevie— Wait.
STEEVIE
I'm done waiting.
LARRY
I was only trying to make you stronger.
STEEVIE
Strength isn't about lifting weights.
It's about respect.
It's about trust.
And you never understood that.
Steevie closes the bag.
ZIP.
LARRY
So that's it?
You're just going to leave?
STEEVIE
Maybe leaving is the only way you'll understand how much you've hurt me.
Steevie reaches for the front door.
LARRY
Steevie...
Please.
STEEVIE
Goodbye, Larry.
She walks out.
CLICK.
Larry remains standing in the empty house.
Alone.
Silent.
The morning sun shines through the windows.
But the house feels colder than ever.
