FADE IN
INT. LIVING ROOM – EARLY EVENING
The front door closes with a loud thud.
The peaceful atmosphere inside the house suddenly changes.
The room is silent except for the ticking of a wall clock.
Larry walks toward the center of the living room with a frustrated expression. His jaw is clenched, and his breathing is heavy.
A few steps behind him, Bethany enters quietly. She immediately notices that Larry is upset.
She gently closes the door and looks at him with concern.
For a few seconds, neither of them speaks.
The silence becomes uncomfortable.
Larry finally turns around.
His eyes show disappointment more than anger.
LARRY
Bethany...
We need to talk.
Right now.
We need to talk.
Right now.
BETHANY
Of course.
What's wrong?
What's wrong?
Larry folds his arms.
His voice is calm at first, but the frustration underneath is impossible to hide.
LARRY
I heard something today.
Something that should never have left this house.
BETHANY
What do you mean?
LARRY
Charlotte knows about our family matters.
She knows about our private conversations.
She knows things that only you and I were supposed to know.
Bethany lowers her eyes.
She immediately realizes what Larry is talking about.
BETHANY
Larry...
I didn't mean any harm.
LARRY
That isn't the point.
Private things are supposed to stay private.
