INT. ISAIAH'S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – LATE AFTERNOON

The front door opens slowly. The house is quiet. BROOKE stands at the entrance, visibly nervous. She clutches Isaiah's backpack tightly in her hands. Her eyes are filled with worry as she looks toward the kitchen.

ISAIAH'S MOM

Brooke? I wasn't expecting you. Is everything okay?

BROOKE

I wish I could say yes. I really need to talk to you. It's about Isaiah.

Isaiah's mom immediately notices the fear in Brooke's voice. Her smile fades. She gestures toward the couch. Both women sit down.

ISAIAH'S MOM

You're scaring me. What happened?

BROOKE

I found something in Isaiah's bag today. I didn't want to believe it. I even hoped I was wrong.

Brooke slowly opens the backpack. She reaches inside with trembling hands. First... A lighter. Then... A small bag containing white powder.
