1. A Sudden Visit
As the month came to an end, Sydney found herself facing another difficult situation. Kiki’s school fees, daily needs, and upcoming expenses had to be arranged for the next month. The total amount was expected to reach nearly twenty-five thousand dollars, and Sydney knew she could not handle everything alone.
Without wasting any time, Sydney took Kiki with her and headed straight to Terry’s house. She wanted to speak directly with Terry about the financial responsibility he still had toward their daughter. “I may not be allowed inside, but Kiki is Terry’s daughter. She is his child, and this is still her father’s home. She has every reason to see him.”
Genesis immediately shook her head. According to her, the house did not belong to Terry at all. She insisted that the property was registered in her name and that she was the one who controlled who could enter.
“This is not Terry’s house. It is in my name, and I am the owner. You will stay outside. If you have something to say, say it from there.”
Sydney glanced toward the hallway behind Genesis. She knew that arguing with her would not solve the problem. She needed Terry to come outside and discuss the matter himself.
4. The Demand for Terry
Sydney’s patience began to disappear. She looked directly at Genesis and asked her to call Terry.
“Call Terry. I need to speak with him. This concerns his daughter, and I am not going to discuss everything with you.”
Genesis crossed her arms and refused to move.
“Whatever you need to say to Terry, you can say to me. He does not need to come outside for this.”
Sydney took another breath. She knew the conversation could become worse, but she had come prepared to explain exactly why she needed help. Kiki’s school fees were approaching, and several important expenses had to be paid before the next month began.
“I need twenty-five thousand dollars for Kiki’s school fees and her expenses for next month. This is not a random request. She needs proper care, education, and support.”

The moment Genesis heard the amount, her eyes widened. She looked shocked for a brief second, but that surprise quickly turned into anger.
“Twenty-five thousand dollars? Are you serious? Do you think my husband and I are supposed to give you money every single month? We are not going to keep paying for everything you demand!”
Sydney tried to respond, but Genesis continued speaking over her. Her voice became louder as she accused Sydney of repeatedly arriving with financial requests.
“Leave right now! Take your daughter with you. We are not foolish, and we are not going to destroy our own lives by handing out twenty-five thousand dollars every month!”
Kiki lowered her eyes, uncomfortable with the shouting. Sydney noticed her daughter’s reaction and stepped slightly closer to her. She was angry, but she did not want Kiki to feel responsible for the adults’ conflict.

Just as Genesis prepared to say something else, a deep voice suddenly echoed from inside the house. Everyone froze.
Terry had clearly been listening to the argument from somewhere inside. His voice carried through the hallway, and the sudden silence on the porch made the atmosphere even more tense.
“That’s enough, Genesis! Open the door properly. I’m coming out, and I’m going to handle this myself.”
Genesis turned toward the hallway, her expression changing instantly. Sydney looked at Kiki, then back at the doorway. She had finally gotten what she wanted: Terry was coming outside.
But nobody knew what he was going to say. Would Terry defend Genesis and refuse to provide the money? Would he acknowledge his responsibility toward Kiki? Or would he reveal something that could change the entire situation?
Footsteps moved closer from inside the house. Genesis stood frozen in the doorway, Sydney waited with a determined expression, and Kiki remained quietly beside her mother.
