The Search for Proof

Terry arrived at Libby's mother's house, overwhelmed with grief, anger, and desperation. He could no longer live with the uncertainty. Looking directly at Libby's mother, he said,

"Show me proof that Libby is really dead."

Libby's mother remained silent for a moment. Then she slowly walked inside and returned carrying a black coffee can.

Libby's Final Gift

She placed the coffee can into Terry's trembling hands and quietly told him that Libby had bought it for him before she disappeared.

"She bought this for you and left it behind."

The moment Terry saw the can, his emotions completely broke. Tears rolled down his face as he held it tightly against his chest.

"Libby... how could you leave me like this?"

Cadrick Appears

Terry eventually began walking home, still holding the coffee can. But before he could get far, he unexpectedly came face-to-face with Cadrick.

Cadrick immediately noticed the can in Terry's hands. His expression changed, and he stepped toward Terry.

"Give that to me. Libby loved me."

Terry stared at him in disbelief.

"She was my wife!"

Cadrick refused to back down.

"But her heart was with me."

The Coffee Spills

Their argument quickly became more heated. Neither man wanted to surrender the one thing that connected them to Libby.

Suddenly, during the struggle, the coffee can slipped from Terry's hands and crashed onto the ground. The lid came off, and the coffee spilled everywhere across the patio.

For a few seconds, both men stood completely silent.

United by Grief

Then something unexpected happened. Terry and Cadrick both dropped to their knees and began gathering the spilled coffee from the ground.

Neither man could hold back his tears. As they collected the coffee, memories of Libby flooded their minds.

In that heartbreaking moment, they realized that despite their differences, they were both suffering because of the same woman.
