Cadrick's Final Warning
The Secret That Could Destroy Everything
1. Ladonna Reaches Her Breaking Point
Ladonna had finally reached the end of her patience. For months, Cadrick had filled her life with promises, apologies, and explanations that never seemed to lead to change. Every time she confronted him about Libby, he swore their relationship was over. Every time she believed him, another secret emerged.
That morning, Ladonna discovered fresh evidence that Cadrick was still communicating with Libby behind her back. She stood in front of him, her hands trembling with anger.
“How many chances do you think you deserve, Cadrick?” she demanded. “You looked me in the eyes and promised it was finished!”
Cadrick lowered his head. “I can explain.”
“No,” Ladonna snapped. “You have explained enough. This time, there will be consequences. I am taking the evidence to the licensing board. I will do everything I legally can to have your professional license revoked.”
His expression changed instantly. Losing that license could mean losing the career he had spent years building.
2. One Last Hope: Natasha
“Please, Ladonna,” Cadrick begged. “You can be angry with me, but don't destroy my future.”
She walked away without answering.
Desperate, Cadrick remembered one person who might persuade her to reconsider: Natasha, Ladonna's close friend. Natasha knew how deeply Ladonna had been hurt, but she also understood the serious consequences of a professional complaint.
Cadrick hurried toward Natasha's office, rehearsing apologies as he traveled. He convinced himself that if he could just speak to her face-to-face, she might help him.
But he had no idea that Natasha already knew far more than he imagined.
3. A Desperate Plea on the Sidewalk
Natasha was leaving her office when she noticed Cadrick approaching. She stopped near the curb, immediately suspicious of his frightened expression.
Before she could ask what he wanted, Cadrick dropped to his knees on the sidewalk. He pressed his palms together and looked up at her with desperate eyes.
“Natasha, please! I'm begging you in God's name. Talk to Ladonna. Don't let her take away my license. If I lose it, everything I've worked for could disappear!”
Natasha folded her arms.
“You should have thought about that before breaking her trust,” she replied coldly. “Ladonna warned you again and again. You made your choices.”
“I know I was wrong,” Cadrick whispered. “But I can make things right.”
Natasha shook her head. “You keep saying that. Why should anyone believe you now?”
4. Ladonna Arrives in a Fury
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out behind him.
“Cadrick! What do you think you're doing?”
Ladonna had arrived. Seeing him kneeling before her friend only made her angrier. She marched forward, grabbed the back collar of his beige sweater, and pulled it toward her, trying to make him stand.
“Get up! Stop putting on a show for Natasha!” she shouted. “You are coming with me. She cannot erase what you've done!”
Cadrick stayed on his knees, still facing Natasha with his hands clasped.
“Please, Natasha! Just one final chance. Tell her I deserve one chance!”
“Let go of him for a moment, Ladonna,” Natasha said unexpectedly.
Ladonna froze. “Why? Don't tell me you're taking his side.”
“I'm not,” Natasha replied. “There is something I need him to answer first.”
5. The Photograph Nobody Expected
Natasha reached into her handbag and pulled out her phone. After scrolling through several messages, she opened a photograph and held the screen in front of Cadrick.
His face went pale.
“Where did you get that?” he asked, his voice barely audible.
Natasha studied his reaction. “So you recognize it.”
“Natasha, please. Not here.”
Ladonna stepped closer. “What picture? What is going on?”
Natasha turned toward her friend. “You thought the worst secret was that Cadrick was still talking to Libby. But there is something else. Something he never told you.”
For the first time, Ladonna's anger gave way to uncertainty.
“Cadrick,” she said slowly, “what else have you been hiding?”
He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
6. The Truth Is One Touch Away
Natasha's phone vibrated. A new message appeared, and she read it silently. Her expression hardened.
“I was hoping you would tell Ladonna yourself,” she said. “But someone has just confirmed what I suspected.”
Cadrick reached toward the phone, then stopped himself.
“Please, Natasha. If she sees that, everything changes.”
“Maybe everything needs to change,” Natasha answered.
Ladonna held out her hand. “Give me the phone.”
Natasha hesitated, then slowly turned the screen toward her. Cadrick shook his head, tears gathering in his eyes.
“Ladonna, wait! Let me explain before you look!”
But Ladonna was no longer listening. She reached for the phone, her heart pounding. Whatever was on that screen had terrified Cadrick more than the threat of losing his license.
And just as Ladonna's fingers touched the phone, another incoming call lit up the screen.
The caller's name was Libby.
