Caught in a Kiss: The Secret That Could Destroy Cadrick

One forbidden encounter. One furious witness. And a conspiracy no one saw coming.

1. Ladona's Final Warning

Ladona walked into Cadrick's office with a storm in her eyes. She had tried to ignore the rumors about Libby, but her patience was gone.

“Listen carefully, Cadrick,” she said, closing the door. “From today onward, you will stay away from Libby. No visits, no phone calls, and absolutely no favors. If I discover that you've contacted her again, I will file a formal complaint. You know I have the authority to challenge your professional license.”

Cadrick stood up. “Ladona, there is nothing between Libby and me. She's hired another lawyer, and our last conversation ended in an argument. I have no reason to see her again.”

Her expression softened, but only slightly. “I love you, Cadrick. I need to know that you love me enough to choose us.”

“I do,” he replied. “You have my word.”

For a moment, she believed him. Neither realized how quickly that promise would be tested.

2. An Unexpected Encounter at Natasha's Office

The following afternoon, Cadrick visited Natasha's law office to discuss a confidential matter. Ladona accompanied him, but an urgent call kept her downstairs. She told him she would join him shortly.

Inside, Natasha handed Cadrick a sealed folder. “These documents could become important,” she warned. “Don't discuss them in the hallway.”

As Cadrick stepped outside, he stopped abruptly. Libby was waiting near the doorway.

“Cadrick,” she said sweetly. “I've been hoping to see you.”

“This isn't a good time, Libby. Please move.”

She stepped closer. “You used to care what happened to me.”

“Whatever happened between us is over,” he answered. “You have a new lawyer. Talk to them.”

But Libby seemed strangely unconcerned by his refusal. Her gaze flickered toward the corridor behind him, as though she were waiting for someone.

3. The Kiss That Changed Everything

Without warning, Libby leaned forward and kissed Cadrick. Shocked, he pulled back and tried to create distance, but she clung to him for another moment.

“Libby, stop!” he protested.

Then a voice echoed across the corridor.

“CADRICK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

Ladona stood in the doorway, both hands pressed against her head. Her eyes were wide with disbelief. She had arrived just in time to see the kiss, but not the argument that preceded it.

Cadrick immediately stepped away. “Ladona, please listen. I didn't ask for this. She came toward me!”

Libby looked wounded. “Is that really what you're going to tell her?”

“You know exactly what happened!” Cadrick snapped.

Ladona's voice trembled. “You promised me yesterday. Yesterday, Cadrick!”

“I kept that promise,” he insisted.

“Then explain what I just saw.” Tears filled her eyes. “I warned you. This time, there will be consequences.”

She turned and hurried away before he could answer.

4. Natasha Discovers the Trap

Cadrick started after Ladona, but Libby blocked his path.

“You should have been more careful,” she whispered, an unsettling smile crossing her face.

“Was this planned?” he demanded.

Before she could reply, Natasha emerged from her office. “Cadrick, come back inside. Now.”

Natasha opened the building's security footage on her computer. The camera showed Cadrick trying to walk past Libby. It captured her moving toward him, initiating the kiss, and holding on while he attempted to pull away.

“This proves I wasn't lying,” Cadrick said, relieved.

“It's only the beginning,” Natasha replied.

She played a second recording, obtained earlier that day. In it, Libby was speaking to an unidentified man outside the building.

“Once Ladona sees them together, she'll turn against him. Then his career will collapse. Everything has to happen today.”

Cadrick stared at the screen. “Who is that man?”

“I don't know yet,” Natasha admitted. “But someone wanted Ladona to arrive at precisely the wrong moment.”

5. A Threat and a Hidden Connection

Cadrick's phone vibrated. The message was from Ladona.

“Tomorrow morning, I am beginning the formal process against your license. Don't contact me again.”

His hands shook. “She won't even hear my side.”

Natasha examined the footage again. “There's something else. Look at this timestamp.”

Minutes before the encounter, the unidentified man had entered a restricted hallway using a visitor badge. Natasha enlarged the image. The badge had been issued under the name of someone from Ladona's own office.

“That doesn't mean Ladona knew,” Cadrick said quickly.

“No,” Natasha agreed. “But it means this could be bigger than Libby.”

She saved copies of both recordings. “We need to protect the evidence and find out who arranged that badge before anyone makes accusations.”

6. The Final Twist

That evening, Ladona sat alone, replaying the painful image of Cadrick and Libby. She was about to switch off her phone when an anonymous message arrived.

“You saw what we wanted you to see. If you cancel his license, the next secret we reveal will be yours.”

Ladona froze. Attached was an old photograph of her standing beside the same unidentified man from Natasha's recording.

Across town, Natasha opened the sealed folder she had given Cadrick. A page was missing. In its place lay a handwritten note: “Ask Ladona what happened three years ago.”

At that exact moment, Cadrick received a call from an unknown number.

“You think Libby is your biggest problem?” a distorted voice asked. “Wait until you discover why Ladona really wanted you away from her.”

The line went dead.

Was Ladona an innocent victim of a carefully staged betrayal—or was someone using her darkest secret to destroy Cadrick? The real conspiracy had only just begun.
