Wayne Calls Amber & Dave to a Hotel With a Life-Changing Offer — But Amber's Unexpected Response Leaves Both Men Completely Stunned!
A Mysterious Invitation That Raises Questions
Amber thought she was having an ordinary afternoon until her phone suddenly rang. It was Wayne. His voice sounded unusually serious, and before she could even ask how he was doing, he said something that immediately caught her attention.
Amber frowned. "Why does this sound like some kind of emergency? Wayne, what's going on?"
Wayne chuckled briefly. "Relax. Nobody's in trouble. But trust me, this conversation could change things for all of us."
"All of us?" Amber repeated.
"You, Dave, and me. Meet me at the hotel at seven. And please, don't be late."
Before Amber could ask another question, Wayne ended the call.
When Dave walked into the room, he immediately noticed the expression on her face.
Amber handed him her phone. "Wayne wants us to meet him at a hotel tonight. Apparently, he has something that could change our lives."
Dave raised his eyebrows. "A hotel? And he couldn't tell you what it was over the phone?"
"Exactly. That's what I'm trying to figure out."
Dave smiled. "Well, knowing Wayne, this could either be the greatest opportunity we've ever heard about or the beginning of another one of his crazy plans."
Amber laughed, but something about the invitation continued bothering her.
The Hotel Meeting Takes an Unexpected Turn
At exactly seven o'clock, Amber and Dave arrived at the hotel. Wayne was already waiting in a private dining area. He stood up, greeted them warmly, and pulled out two chairs.
Dave looked around the room. "You brought us to a hotel, ordered dinner, and still haven't told us what's happening. You better have something big planned."
Wayne laughed. "That's exactly why I called both of you."
Amber crossed her arms. "Wayne, stop building suspense. Just tell us."
Wayne reached into his briefcase and placed a folder on the table.
"I've been talking to some investors. They are interested in financing a new entertainment and hospitality business. We're talking about a serious investment, multiple locations, and a long-term opportunity."
Dave leaned forward. "Wait. Are you saying you're starting another business?"
"Not just another business," Wayne replied. "I'm talking about building something that could bring financial freedom to the people involved."
He turned toward Amber.
Amber looked surprised. "Me? Why would you choose me for something this important?"
"Because I see something in you that you sometimes don't see in yourself," Wayne answered.
Then he turned toward Dave.
Dave slowly nodded. "That's a big responsibility, Wayne. But what's the catch?"
Wayne smiled. "There's always one question with you, isn't there?"
The First Twist: Wayne Reveals the Real Numbers
Wayne opened the folder and showed them the proposed investment figures. The amount was much larger than either Amber or Dave had expected.
Amber stared at the documents.
"I know. That's why I didn't want to discuss it casually."
Dave examined the paperwork carefully. "Who are these investors? Have they already agreed to everything?"
Wayne's expression changed slightly.
"They are interested, but they want a final decision from us. They believe the three of us have the right combination to make this successful."
Dave put the papers down.
"No," Wayne replied. "I'm giving you the opportunity to look at everything. But there's something else you need to understand. This project will require commitment. It's not something we can walk away from whenever things get difficult."
Amber nodded slowly. "I appreciate the opportunity, but I don't want to sign something just because the numbers look impressive."
Wayne smiled. "That's exactly the kind of thinking I want from you."
The Second Twist: Dave Asks the Question Nobody Expected
Just when the conversation seemed to be moving in the right direction, Dave noticed a section of the agreement that caught his attention.
He read it twice before looking directly at Wayne.
Wayne leaned back.
"Because somebody has to lead. We can't have every little decision turning into a three-person debate."
Dave shook his head.
Amber picked up the agreement and read the section herself.
"Dave has a point. Wayne, if we're supposed to be partners, why wouldn't we all have a say in major decisions?"
Wayne looked at both of them.
"I wasn't trying to take anything away from either of you. I just wanted to make sure the business could move quickly."
Dave replied calmly, "Then change the agreement. Nobody should have to sacrifice their independence to become part of a successful business."
For the first time that evening, Wayne became quiet.
The Third Twist: Amber Makes a Decision That Stuns Both Men
Wayne turned toward Amber, expecting her to agree with Dave but still accept the opportunity.
Instead, she slowly closed the folder and pushed it back across the table.
Wayne blinked in disbelief.
Amber took a deep breath.
"That's exactly why I'm taking it seriously. I don't want money to make me ignore things that matter. I don't want to become part of something where my voice only matters when everybody agrees with me."
Dave looked at her with surprise. He had expected her to negotiate, but he hadn't expected her to refuse so quickly.
Wayne leaned forward.
Amber shook her head.
"No, Wayne. I'm turning down the idea that I should be grateful enough to accept anything without asking questions. If we're building something together, then we should all feel respected."
The room went silent.
Dave finally spoke.
Wayne looked from Dave to Amber, then unexpectedly started laughing.
"You two really thought I was going to let you sign that agreement without challenging it?"
Amber narrowed her eyes.
"What are you talking about?"
Wayne explained that the document was still a preliminary proposal. He had deliberately brought the partnership structure to their attention because he wanted to know whether they would question unfair terms before putting their names on anything.
"I didn't just need people who could make money," Wayne said. "I needed people who would stand up for themselves and the business, even when a big opportunity was sitting right in front of them."
Dave shook his head with a smile.
Wayne laughed. "And miss watching y'all argue over my paperwork? Never!"
One Final Surprise Changes Everything
Wayne pulled another document from his briefcase.
"Here's the revised partnership proposal. Equal voting rights on major decisions, clear financial responsibilities, and independent legal reviews before anyone signs. Nobody gets to control the others."
Amber looked at him carefully.
Dave smiled. "And now we're finally talking business."
Wayne raised his glass.
Amber raised her glass too, but before taking a sip, she looked at Wayne.
"One more thing. If we're doing this, I want my own creative ideas to be taken seriously. I'm not just going to be the face of your company."
Wayne nodded.
"That's why I called you, Amber. I want you bringing your own vision to the table."
Dave added, "And I want to see the final financial projections before we make anything official."
Wayne smiled. "Deal."
As the three continued talking, Amber realized that the evening had turned into something completely different from what she expected. She had arrived thinking Wayne was offering her a life-changing opportunity. Instead, she had discovered that the real challenge was making sure that opportunity came with respect, honesty, and equal partnership.
But just as they were preparing to leave, Wayne's phone lit up with a message from one of the investors.
He read it, and his smile suddenly disappeared.
Dave noticed immediately.
Wayne slowly placed his phone on the table.
"There's one more thing I haven't told you both. The investors want to meet us tomorrow morning. And apparently, they have another person in mind for the company."
Amber frowned.
Wayne looked at both of them.
Dave leaned forward.
Amber smiled slightly.
Wayne nodded, but one thing was clear: the biggest test of their new partnership hadn't even begun.
