Bethany’s Welcome Back Surprise
A carefully planned celebration turns into an unforgettable scene when Larry’s thoughts lead him somewhere no one expects.
Bethany had planned everything to win Larry’s attention. But while she was preparing the perfect welcome-home celebration, Larry was still caught up in the memory of one unexpected kiss.
1. Bethany’s Plans Begin to Unravel
Bethany had done almost everything she could think of to make Larry choose her. She had planned an exciting cruise trip, gone shopping for new clothes for him, and even bought unusual accessories for a special evening. She imagined that all these efforts would finally bring Larry closer to her. Yet none of it seemed to work.
Larry was not responding to her plans the way she had hoped. He listened, nodded, and went along with the conversation, but his attention was somewhere else. What Bethany did not know was that Larry’s mind kept returning to Jade. One secret, unexpected kiss from Jade had left him completely distracted. He replayed that moment in his thoughts, wondering what it meant and why he could not stop thinking about it.
For Bethany, the situation was becoming frustrating. She had invested time, money, and emotion into making Larry happy, but she could not understand why he remained so distant. She decided that a grand surprise might change everything.
2. A Call to Charlotte
With a fresh idea in mind, Bethany picked up her phone and called her cousin Charlotte. Her voice sounded excited as she explained the plan.
“Charlotte, I need your help. I want you to decorate the house. We’re going to give Larry a big welcome-back surprise. I want everything to look beautiful when he walks through the door.”
Charlotte agreed without hesitation. She understood that Bethany wanted the evening to feel special, so she promised to take care of the decorations. Soon, she was busy transforming the house. Blue and gold balloons filled the room, welcome-back banners were placed across the walls, and flowers, gifts, and a celebration cake completed the setup.
Everything looked warm and festive. Charlotte stepped back to admire her work, confident that Larry would be impressed. Bethany, meanwhile, prepared a large bouquet of flowers and pictured Larry smiling when he saw the surprise.
3. Larry Arrives with Jade on His Mind
As Larry and Bethany made their way home, Bethany kept talking about how happy he would be when he saw what she had arranged. She expected him to ask questions and show some excitement. Larry, however, seemed unusually quiet.
His thoughts were still drifting back to Jade’s kiss. He was so absorbed in the memory that he barely noticed Bethany’s excitement. He had no idea that his distracted state of mind was about to turn a simple celebration into a very awkward situation.
When they finally reached the house, Bethany let Larry enter first. She wanted him to see the decorations before she presented her flowers. The room was glowing with balloons and lights, and Charlotte was standing near the decorations, making sure everything was in place.
4. The Kiss That Shocked Everyone
Larry looked around, but his attention quickly settled on Charlotte. For one confusing moment, his imagination seemed to take over. With Jade still filling his thoughts, he mistook Charlotte for the woman he had been thinking about.
Before Charlotte could understand what was happening, Larry stepped toward her, took hold of her, and leaned in to kiss her. Charlotte was startled. She immediately pulled back, confused and uncomfortable with the sudden situation.
At that exact moment, Bethany walked into the room holding the bouquet. She froze when she saw Larry trying to kiss Charlotte. The flowers slipped from her hands and landed on the floor. The beautiful surprise she had planned suddenly felt like a public humiliation.
5. Bethany’s Anger Explodes
“Larry! What is wrong with you?” Bethany shouted. “I planned all of this for you, and this is what you do the moment you walk into the house?”
Charlotte quickly stepped away and tried to explain herself.
“Bethany, please listen. I was just standing here, checking the decorations. He suddenly came toward me. I had no idea he was going to do that!”
Charlotte looked embarrassed and bewildered. She had only agreed to help with the party, and now she had become the center of a scene she never expected. Bethany turned toward Larry, waiting for an explanation that could possibly make sense of what she had witnessed.
6. Larry’s Confession Raises More Questions
Larry stepped back, looking just as confused as everyone else. He rubbed his forehead and tried to gather his thoughts.
“I honestly don’t know what happened. For a second, I thought I was seeing Jade. I wasn’t thinking clearly. Maybe I’m still stuck on that kiss. I can’t explain why I did it.”
His words only made Bethany angrier. She stared at him, unable to believe that Jade’s kiss was still affecting him so deeply. She had arranged the decorations, organized the celebration, and prepared a warm welcome, yet Larry could not even focus on the person standing beside him.
“So one kiss from Jade is all it takes to make you forget where you are and who is standing in front of you?” Bethany demanded. Larry had no convincing answer. Charlotte remained at a distance, while the fallen bouquet lay forgotten on the floor beneath the welcome-back banner.
But the biggest mystery was still waiting. Was Larry’s mistake simply a moment of confusion, or had Jade’s unexpected kiss revealed feelings he had been trying to ignore? And would Bethany confront Jade, or would she turn her anger toward Larry instead?
